Couples Therapy

Humans are hardwired to connect with others. We desire close relationships with others and our relationships with others bring us happiness, support, provide a sense of safety, comfort and companionship. However, when relationships with important people in our lives create pain, fear, and frustration, we start to feel a lack of safety and comfort with ourselves and our environment.

The goal of couples therapy is to examine the main issues that may be hindering the relationship, to implement new approaches to maintain a positive connection with one another, improve communication and understand each other better and to co-create a relationship dynamic that results in a more satisfying and meaningful relationship.

Couples who desire change in their relationship can look forward to:

  • Learning new tools to better manage conflict

  • Gaining awareness of and changing unhelpful habits and beliefs for a more satisfying relationship

  • Building deeper intimacy and maintaining connectedness

  • Restoring or enhancing trust and respect within the relationship

  • Recovering from infidelity
